Anyone Can Perform This Simple Magic Card Trick

If you are looking for a simple magic trick that even children can do, try magic card tricks. This is the perfect trick for children. The only thing they need to do is to know some maths. This can be done with fantastic results so long as it is practiced over and over again.

What to do first:

First you will need a 52 card deck of cards which is the proper poker deck then you will turn to those who are watching the trick and tell them you are going to split the deck into various bundles, now shuffle the deck. The card at the top of each pile is the card that you begin with it is important to hold the decks facing upwards so you keep track of everything that is going on. For each pile you will count up to thirteen with the ace counting as one. It will take a different amount of cards to reach thirteen because it depends on what the starting card is. So, if your first card is an ace you will start by counting one and count cards into a pile up to thirteen. Your initial card is a two, so we will take the next card as number three, then the next as number four and so on until we have counted thirteen cards, it wont matter what the suits are. If your first card is a ten then the next card of the pile will be number eleven, then twelve and then thirteen for that pile. There will be a total of only four cards in this pile. Do all the counting to yourself. Lay the cards down in piles face up and when you have finished with all the piles turn them over carefully so the first card you laid down is on top of the pile.

Let the magic begin:

Make it look like you are just placing down random piles of cards when you are actually counting the cards. You cannot start a pile with face cards. If your first card is a face card just say, “I don’t like face cards” and put it on the bottom of the deck or slide in the deck anywhere. The whole time you are counting out your piles of cards you are looking at the cards face up in your hand. When you come to the end of the deck the remaining cards in your hand will probably not be enough cards to make a full pile. Because the remaining cards will not make a pile of thirteen they have to be put aside and not mixed in with the rest. Just say, “I have enough cards already” and place the rest safely aside. Be careful to count correctly as the trick depends on the math.

The next phase:

There will be seven piles of cards in front of you approximately. Do not stress about your number of piles. After removing them get the people to hand you the piles one at a time. With the cards you had set aside put them into your hand face down while they make their choices. Add the piles they hand to you to the cards in your hand. If you had ended with six piles you would have them remove three or if you ended with seven piles you would have them remove four piles. You can either tell them they only need three piles in front of them or just do it yourself.

Now the fun part:

Let the people flip over the card on the top of any two piles to reveal what is there. Now you will have two piles with the top card turned face up. Show them that you are about to find the number that is on the last pile by looking through the deck. Remember to tell them you will only know the number of the card not the suit. More showmanship is here. Do not make it obvious that you are counting the cards, act as if you are truly sifting through the deck looking or feeling for the magic number. Counting the cards is what you are doing. First you will count out ten cards. Next read out the number on the starting card that is facing up on one of the piles of cards. Then you will count to the number of the second face up card. So, if you had a two and a three turned over on the two piles you will be counting out the ten cards, then two and then three more cards from the turned over cards.

The grand finale:

Now you have some cards left in your hand. It wont matter whether you have one card or ten cards left in your hands. Without being suspicious put the final cards down after you have counted them and proclaim, “I think I have your card.” The number of the top card on the last pile is “.” While counting off the remaining cards you will say the remaining number of cards. So, if there is just one card left you will say the card is an Ace. Or, if there were two cards left you will say the card is a two, and so on. Rather than flip over the last card yourself, let the audience member turn it over.

In closing:

It wont fail as long as you have counted everything correctly.

Be sure that the first or beginning card of each pile remains on the top of the pile when you turn the piles over.

Make sure you start with 52 cards.

When counting cards try your best to be cool and confident that way it will be more effective on the people watching. You will definitely impress people with this trick.
